The Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Foundation recently launched the ZDHC Academy, an online portal that empowers brands and manufacturers to improve their knowledge and practice of chemical management.
Through the Business Environmental Performance Initiative (BEPI), FTA has taken an active role in the development of this platform. In May 2016, BEPI and ZDHC decided to join efforts to scale chemical management in supply chains. As part of this close cooperation, FTA has contributed extensive technical knowledge and expertise in the building of the site.
Powered by the FTA Academy, ZDHC’s platform training on chemical management will complement the extensive training offering that FTA already provides to its members. Currently, the FTA Academy offers over 600 learning sessions on various topics in 12 languages.
“The ZDHC Academy will be a true lever in scaling chemical management skills in the textile and footwear supply chain globally, and we are proud to enable this huge effort”, said Darrell Doren, FTA’s Senior Director for Sustainability.
FTA is currently working to integrate this new resource into the FTA Academy. This way, BEPI participants will be able to benefit more easily from ZDHC’s chemical training, which is an important component of BEPI’s Supply Chain Chemical Module.
